Kadir and I were at our local maker space for a resin print for a science project and with a little down time figured feeling comfortable on the 3d printer should be in our repertoire. I’ve printed a few things in the past but it has been a year. So we decided to pursue a site called Printables and found a cool design for modular drawer dividers.
While it may not be extremely necessary I am curious about drawer improvements and this easily downloadable file allowed Kadir and I to dip our toes in the 3d printing world a bit.

Above is the file we choose

The last few times I was 3d filament printing the outcome was a bit scraggly. Guru James agreed these aren’t the best printers on the market, mostly due to their age but that trying a layer height of 0.1 mm might improve the outcome.

Here we are uploading it into PrusaSlicer along with a toothpaste pusher. Also, if you didn’t notice already, one of the pieces is very far away from the others. We were planning to print a full set of parts, but it was going to take 2 days to print, which seemed a bit much for a trial run. So we dialed it back to just 4 corner pieces and two pieces to create a single divider.

And here we go! We shall wait and see how it turns out tomorrow. The total print was somewhere in the 1 day range.
